Review by hotel critic
My recent escape to Roesli Guest House, or should I say, the neighboring Baslertor, offered a serene retreat in the heart of Lucerne. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the accommodating staff who kindly stored our luggage before our check-in time, allowing us to explore the charming old city along the riverbank.Although our room at the sister hotel Baslertor boasted a spacious layout and tasteful decor, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the rejuvenating spa services. The free access to the renovated outdoor pool and hot tub provided a tranquil oasis amidst the Alpine beauty. The location proved ideal, just a stone's throw away from both the train station and the iconic Chapel Bridge. The multilingual staff added a touch of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere. While my visit was in the colder months, the thought of lounging on the sun terrace by the seasonal outdoor pool in the summer is tempting. Ultimately, Roesli Guest House provided a peaceful haven, perfect for those seeking relaxation in a picturesque setting.
